Step 1 While you are able to decide
Everything begins with a conversation.
We take time to understand:
Your financial situation
Your priorities and preferences
Any concerns about the future
The role you would like us to play
Creating your framework
We then help you record your wishes in a clear and practical way, including:
How your money should be used
Your approach to spending and care
Any guidance on gifts or financial support
The people you would like involved in decisions
This creates a reliable reference point for the future.
Putting legal arrangements in place
If you choose to proceed:
A Lasting Power of Attorney is created using the official government process via the Office of the Public Guardian
An independent certificate provider confirms that you understand and are acting freely
You decide whether to appoint us as:
Your attorney
Or a replacement attorney
We do not influence your decision — we simply provide an option.
Step 2 While you still have capacity
Your arrangements remain in place but inactive.
During this time:
You remain fully in control of your affairs
We can review your recorded wishes with you periodically
You can update your instructions at any time
This ensures everything stays accurate and relevant.
Step 3 If your LPA is needed
If the time comes when you are no longer able to make decisions:
Your Lasting Power of Attorney is activated
We step in to act in accordance with your wishes
All decisions are made in line with the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
Step 4 Managing your affairs
If we act as your attorney, we will:
Manage your bank accounts
Pay bills and ongoing expenses
Oversee income and outgoings
Ensure your financial affairs are in order
Where appropriate, we will work alongside:
Regulated financial advisers
Other professional advisers
We do not provide investment advice ourselves.
Step 5 Safeguards in practice
Every action we take is supported by safeguards, including:
Careful decision-making based on your recorded wishes
Additional checks for significant transactions
Clear documentation of all decisions
Ongoing oversight and review
Our role is not just to act — it is to act carefully and accountably.
Step 6 Communication and transparency
Depending on your preferences:
We can provide updates to nominated individuals
We maintain clear records that can be reviewed
We ensure that decisions are explained where needed
This helps avoid misunderstanding and builds trust.
A steady and considered approach
This is not a process that is rushed or reactive.
It is designed to ensure that:
Your wishes are understood
Your affairs are managed properly
Decisions are made with care
